Privacy Policy

The short version. This website sets no cookies and carries no advertising or third-party trackers. We count page views, using a cookieless tool that cannot identify you or follow you to other sites. The only personal information we receive is what you choose to type into our contact form. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone except the services that deliver it to us.
Who we are
First Pew is a product of Status X Technologies, based in Louisiana, United States. In this policy “we”, “us” and “First Pew” mean Status X Technologies operating the First Pew service. We are responsible for the personal information described here.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you send a message through our contact form, we receive your name, your email address, your church’s name if you choose to provide it, and the content of your message. Every one of those is something you typed and chose to send. The church field is optional.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider records standard server logs when a page is requested, including the IP address making the request, the time, the page requested, and the browser’s user agent string. These logs exist to keep the site running and secure. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not combine them with anything else.
Page view measurement
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits, so we can tell whether anyone is finding this site. It records which page was viewed, which site referred you if any, and coarse technical details such as country, device type and browser.
It is cookieless. It stores nothing in your browser, it does not give you an identifier that persists between visits, and it cannot follow you to any other website. We see counts and trends, not people. There is no way for us to look up an individual visitor in it, and we could not identify you from it if we wanted to.
What we deliberately do not collect
We want to be specific, because many privacy policies describe tracking that this site simply does not do:
- We set no cookies of any kind.
- We use no advertising or social media trackers, no pixels, no session recording and no heatmaps. We do not use Google Analytics or anything like it.
- We do no cross-site tracking and no profiling, and we run no advertising anywhere based on your visit.
- We load no fonts or scripts from other companies’ domains. Our typeface is served from our own server, and so is the page-view counter described above, so browsing this site does not announce you to anybody else.
- We do not store anything in your browser’s local storage.
Because we set no cookies and the page-view counter is cookieless, there is no cookie banner on this site. There is nothing to consent to.
Why we use your information
We use what you send through the contact form for one purpose: to read your message and reply to it. We may keep the exchange so that we have a record of our correspondence with you. We do not add you to a marketing list without asking, and we do not send unsolicited email.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of service providers. They process information on our behalf and under our instructions, and we do not permit them to use it for their own purposes.
- Vercel hosts this website, produces the server logs described above, and provides the cookieless page-view measurement.
- Resend delivers contact form submissions to our inbox. Your message passes through their systems as email.
- Google provides Search Console, which reports on how this site appears in search results. It reports aggregate search data to us and does not place any tracking on this site or identify you to us.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect the rights and safety of people using the service.
Payments
First Pew is not currently accepting payments, so we do not hold any billing information. When subscriptions become available, payments will be handled by Stripe. In that arrangement card details are entered on Stripe’s systems and are never sent to or stored by us — we receive only confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with the billing name and email needed to manage the subscription. We will update this policy before that begins.
Church and congregation data
The First Pew platform is still in development. When churches are able to publish sites with us, those sites may hold information about congregation members, including prayer requests, which can be deeply personal. That information will belong to the church, not to us, and we will hold it only to provide the service. We will publish specific terms covering it before any church entrusts us with it.
How long we keep things
We keep contact form correspondence for as long as it is useful to the conversation and our records, and we delete it when it is not. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider on their standard schedule, which is a matter of weeks rather than years.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can ask us to stop using it. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific data protection rights — including residents of US states with privacy legislation, the United Kingdom, and the European Economic Area — those rights apply, and exercising them costs you nothing.
Write to us at the address below and we will respond. We will not discriminate against you for asking.
Children
This website is aimed at church leaders and administrators, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. Contact form submissions travel encrypted, and the credentials our systems use are held as encrypted environment variables, never in our published code. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise, but we do not collect information we do not need — which is the most reliable protection available.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so rather than quietly revising the text.
Contact us
For anything in this policy, including requests about your information, use the contact form on our home page. It reaches a real inbox and we reply by email, usually within a day. The form works with or without JavaScript.
